How is IPMAT Quant different from school maths?
It uses school-level ideas in aptitude-style questions with timing pressure and exact-answer requirements.
Exam Prep
For IIM Indore/Rohtak five-year integrated programme aspirants. IPMAT includes MCQ plus Short Answer questions where exact numerical answers are required.
Number Systems: divisibility, remainders, factors, multiples, primes, HCF, LCM, digits, and integer reasoning.
Arithmetic: percentages, ratio, averages, profit-loss, time-work, time-speed-distance, mixtures, interest, and proportional reasoning.
Algebra: equations, inequalities, functions, sequences, logarithms, and translating word conditions into expressions.
Geometry and Trigonometry: triangles, circles, coordinate geometry, mensuration, angles, ratios, and standard trigonometric ideas.
Modern Maths: permutations, combinations, probability, set theory, and counting logic.
Preparation Strategy
IPMAT Quant needs accuracy because the Short Answer section gives no option support. In an MCQ, a student can sometimes eliminate choices or test options. In SA, the final number must be exact. I train students to build calculation discipline, write intermediate steps clearly, and check whether the answer fits the question.
Number Systems and Arithmetic receive special attention because they appear often and can be solved faster with the right approach. Students learn divisibility, remainders, ratio thinking, percentage shortcuts, and rate-based setups. The aim is not to memorise tricks blindly, but to understand why the shortcut works so it can be adapted.
IPMAT also tests composure. A Class 12 student may be comfortable with school maths but not with aptitude-style framing. We practise mixed sets, timed drills, and SA-specific accuracy checks. After every test, errors are separated into concept gaps, calculation mistakes, question misreading, and poor method choice.
Each student starts with a first interaction so I can see the real source of errors. Some students need concept repair; others need timing, question selection, and accuracy systems. The preparation plan is built from that starting point, not from a generic worksheet sequence.
Practice moves from topic blocks to mixed sets and then timed sections. I keep an error log so repeated mistakes are visible. If a student keeps losing marks in the same way, we pause and fix that pattern before adding more papers.

Class 12 students targeting IIM Indore or IIM Rohtak IPM.
Recent graduates preparing for the integrated programme route.
Students who need aptitude maths beyond school textbook practice.
Students who struggle with exact-answer and timed Quant sections.
It uses school-level ideas in aptitude-style questions with timing pressure and exact-answer requirements.
There are no options, so guessing is not useful. Calculation accuracy and concept clarity matter.
Yes. The core Quant preparation overlaps, with test-specific practice where needed.
Number Systems, Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Modern Maths are all important.
Yes, but the aptitude format needs separate timed practice beyond board-style study.
